ProJoint™ Porcelain Primer

A high performance priming slurry for porcelain paving

The ProJoint™ Porcelain Primer is an ultra-high polymer and fibre modified flexible primer with excellent workability and adhesion properties. As a single coat fast application, ProJoint™ Porcelain Primer promotes adhesion and control suction on difficult substrates such as porcelain, concrete, ceramic tiles, paving slabs or setts.

Using the ProJoint™ Porcelain Primer enables the porcelain slabs or setts to be laid on a sand and cement bedding.

The powdered primer is available either tubbed with two 10kg bags to allow the bucket to act as the ideal mixing vessel with the simple addition of water or in loose 10kg bags* for a more economical option.

    • The instructions say to allow the primer to dry before application, is this correct?
Yes, always let the primer dry completely before laying your porcelain slabs. This ensures the best bond between the slabs and the bedding mortar.
    • Once the primer is applied and dried, how long do I have to lay the slabs?
You may lay the slabs right after the primer has dried, right up to 14 days after application of the primer.
    • Can I really prime slabs up to 14 days before laying?
Yes you can! Just ensure the primed side is protected from weathering and dirt.
    • How does this primer differ from other slurry primers?
ProJoint Porcelain Primer is specially designed for porcelain paving, offering superior adhesion and durability compared to standard slurry primers.
    • How long does it take for the primer to dry?
The primer typically dries in 30–60 minutes, depending on the weather.
    • Can the primer be used on natural stone?
Yes, although it’s optimized for porcelain, it can also be used on natural stone.
    • Do I mix a full bag at once?
Only mix what you need. If you’re working on a small area, you can mix less to avoid waste.
    • What is the coverage?
One bag of primer typically covers 10-13m², depending on the application thickness.
