ProJoint™ TITAN™

Ultra high strength epoxy paving grout - suitable for vehicular areas up to 10 tonnes

Similar to ProJoint™ Fusion™, ProJoint™ TITAN™ offers a quick and easy solution to filling joints between paving slabs and setts but in areas of both vehicular access and general foot traffic.

Suitable for natural stone and concrete paving, ProJoint™ TITAN™ is a high strength two-part epoxy paving grout which is permeable and is very simple to use. Resin and sand are supplied ready-mixed within the tub, and only requires the addition of the enclosed hardener to activate the chemical cure.  Once cured, ProJoint™ TITAN™ delivers a weed-free, frost resistant joint which resists pressure washing.

    • NOT suitable for porcelain, please use RapidFlow brush in compound or TileJam
    • I've mixed the Titan up and it hasn't reached the expected free flowing foamy consistency, why is this?
Titan has a level of moisture incorporated to activate the foaming agent; this allows the compound to become free flowing and promotes even distribution of the hardener. During transport and storage this moisture level may drop due to evaporation. To solve this issue, simply add small amounts of water, 0.5-1ltr at a time until the compound reaches the free flowing foamy consistency required.

    • Why can’t you use Titan on porcelain?
Titan isn’t suitable for porcelain tiles because of the resin sheen it leaves.  On natural stone, this looks great as it enhances the colours of the stones, bringing them to life.  On porcelain, this resin sheen can often leave uneven and patchy, due to the density and the impermeable nature of porcelain.  We would suggest using the ProJoint RapidFlow instead.

    • What is the resin layer after applying Titan?
Due to the high epoxy resin content, ProJoint Titan will darken and enhance the natural surface colours and textures of the paving. This resin film can be especially noticeable on grey paving, including granite, so a test area is advised before use. It is important to spread the mix across the total paving area to ensure the potential effect is uniform. Please note that this is a temporary effect and weathering, and foot traffic accelerate its disappearance.

    • How long does the resin layer stay on the paving?
It can take between 1 week to 6 months. On average it would normally take around 2-3 months to fade fully.

    • How can I stop the resin sheen from forming?

      ProJoint Pre-Grout Sealant:

It is recommended to use ProJoint Pre-Grout sealant before jointing. This sealer provides a barrier on the stone, preventing the epoxy from adhering to the surface. Using this in conjunction with a wet medium-soft brush at a 45-degree angle to the joints while jointing will eliminate any resin sheen after curing.

      Weather:
It is crucial to adhere to the tub's recommended surface temperature range of 3°C to 25°C. If the stone surface is too warm, particularly on darker slabs, the curing speed of the epoxy will increase and will create a challenge in keeping the pavers adequately wet. It is worth noting, if the air temperature is 20°C, the surface temp could be up to 40°C.

    • Preparation and Application: Ensure the paving is adequately prepared and soaked with water before brushing or squeegeeing over the surface. Use a wet medium-soft brush at a 45-degree angle to the joints to remove excess sand. Note that any sand left on the surface will not be easily removed once the product has cured.

    • How long does Titan take to cure?
Cure times are dependent on temperature and humidity, but as a guide ProJoint Titan can accept foot traffic after 12 hours and light vehicle traffic after 24 hours at 20°C. Please note that cold temperatures and moisture will extend the cure and therefore protection time required. On the initial cure, the joints will feel semi-hard and will continue to cure over the coming days. Do not panic if the joints are not touch hard within a few days, they will continue to cure.

    • Is Titan permeable?
Yes, Titan is permeable, allowing water to drain through the joints and helping to prevent puddles or water buildup on your paving when used in conjunction with a permeable bedding mix.

    • Can you pressure wash Titan?
Yes! Once fully cured, Titan can be pressure washed. Use a fan nozzle and keep the pressure washer at a safe distance to avoid damaging the joints.

    • Why should I use Titan over air-cure jointing compounds?
Titan is a chemically cured product, making it stronger and more durable than air-cured compounds. It’s perfect for heavy-duty areas like driveways or commercial spaces, where extra strength is essential.

    • Once mixed, can I store it for future use?
No, Titan must be used immediately after mixing. Be sure to only mix what you need for your project.

    • The surface of my paving is tacky after application, why is this?
This usually happens when excess product isn’t cleaned away during application. Use a damp sponge or clean cloth to remove any leftover resin as you go.

    • What temperature should I apply Titan?
For the best results, apply Titan when the temperature is above 5°C and below 20°C. Avoid very cold or frosty conditions as they can affect curing, likewise, avoid extreme heat and direct sunlight.
